HELP US CHANGE THE FACE OF NUTRTION

When we first dreamt of Diversify Dietetics, we had a hunch that we had a good idea. We had a feeling that there were others out there who would also be willing to support our mission. What we didn’t know is how phenomenal this community would be, and how much it would change this profession that we love so much. We have met so many brilliant students, dietetic interns and professionals of color- young (and not so young!) people who are incredibly passionate about food and nutrition. People who want nothing more than to reach their education and career goals, so that they can provide high-quality, culturally relevant care to the communities they call home. We also quickly realized that there’s a great need to create more resources for our community. To accomplish that, we need your help. We are only where we are today because of supporters like you. Please join us as we do the work to change the face of nutrition.

A Story of One Member of the Diversify Dietetics Community "For me the Diversify Dietetics community means hope. I have been inspired and empowered by the stories of many registered dietitians of color; which I would not have known without this community provided by Diversify Dietetics. So much ambition, resilience, and excellence shines through each of the stories I encounter through this platform; and that has helped me keep going in my own journey despite various obstacles. This community is filled with dietitians and other students who pour out encouragement and resources when I need it the most. I was matched with a mentor last fall who helped me tremendously through my last year of grad school and the match process for the second time. Her help extended beyond preparing me for DICAS or professional development, because she reminded me that I am much more than my grades, my volunteer experiences, and all the other things I strive so hard to achieve. Through this community, I have gained so much wisdom and I am very pleased to say that I did match to my number one choice in dietetic internship this time around. I was thrilled to finally have my foot in the door of the profession that I am so passionate about. I am grateful to Tamara and Deanna for just even listening and for creating a platform which allows me to tell my story." Camaria Welch- Atlanta, GA
